Many thanks Mr Carlyle for all that you have done for Mornington Primary School.

When it was announced you were leaving both Megan and Emily cried themselves to sleep that night!

You have helped nurture Megan’s love of nature and she will miss running into your office to report on the number Waxwings near the school.

Mornington Primary School without you at the helm will seem strange, but your legacy will continue through all of your pupils, past and present.

We feel honoured to have had you guiding our daughters and wish you all the very best in the future.

Kind regards

Claire, Ian, Megan and Emily Greasby

Robert,
Thank you so much for your hard work and commitment to Mornington. From the first day Jamie walked through the door we were so impressed with how you not only ran a school, but
took time to know every child. You've encouraged and nurtured our children and helped them grow in confidence.
We wish you the very best in your new project - we'll really miss you.
Best wishes
The Barnards.

Dear Robert,

Mornington School has been really lucky to have for the last eighteen years!  You will be a really missed part of the Nuthall community.  I remember that you used to come around the classrooms each morning to check if we needed anything, it was really reassuring.   I wasn't at Mornington for long, but I had a really nice time there, and learned so much.  Thanks for giving me my first 'real' job as a teacher.  Craig and I are much less transient now, and have been living in Auckland for the last six years, with a four year old daughter too.  If you are going to travel out this way in your retirement, please stop by, it would be loevly to see you.  Enjoy retiring, be happy and rest and relax!!

Love Kimberley Fraser

I know that when you lead, we succeed,
Because you know what to do,
To be a Boss, takes a special breed,
I guess you know that too.
It takes confidence and a steady hand,
To control a successful operation,
The ability to listen and understand,
When those you lead need calibration.
Being a Boss is more than supervision,
It requires common-sense indeed,
And we thank you for that vision,
Because when you lead we succeed
And We have!
Thanks Rob.......and Relax!

We are writing to wish you a very happy retirement - in your new venture with Jill, Judith and Roger - no doubt we will still be able to hear how you are and how the building project is going.

Our time spent at Mornington Primary is one of very many treasured memories for all of us. Louise and Mark often talk about their times at primary school - Mr Carlyle on the guitar seems to be a popular one - "all bound for Mornington". I am attaching a photo of you with Mark and Brian Clough - which you say in the Summer 2011 newsletter is one of your most treasured memories - Mark still has this photo framed in his room at home! Peter enjoyed it too - seeing his son with Brian Clough (Mark was very put out that the Central News coverage only showed their goal and made it look as if they had won even though Mornington won 3-1 - the fact he still remembers this point proves how upset he was!).

Looks like Mark is off to work in Antigua for Bodog (sponsor Fulham FC)  having gained a Maths degree at Sheffield Unviersity.  Louise is working at Dance South West in Bournemouth as Front of House Manager (Drama & Theatre Studies at Kent University) - this is the little girl who at 5 could not be coaxed and do her "bit" during the first ever Class Assembly!!!

This is the end of an era - and we send you all our very best wishes.
Take care and hopefully see you in your new abode very soon.

Love, Eunice, Peter, Louise and Mark Moody.

Dear Rob,

It has been a privilege to have known you and worked with you. I well remember our first meetings at Eastwood and on site and our observations that the school was built front to back! You have always been forward looking and thanks to your vision and enterprise a complete transformation has taken place.

Your leadership and stewardship has led to a wonderful achievement – a vibrant and highly successful school community in every respect. It was always a joy for me to come to you – for example, the excitement for learning, the high motivation and enthusiasm of staff and children, the colourful environment, the excellent relationships, the involvement of parents and the wider community – and all that makes for a truly outstanding school. I treasure the memories!

I cannot believe that you too have reached retirement! Another chapter in your life is opening up and I know you will find lots to do.

Audrey joins me in wishing you and Jill every happiness and fulfilment in the years ahead.

Your friend and colleague,

Viv Axford

Hi there,

Well Mr Carlyle, I daren’t think how many years it is since I left Mornington Primary now! But I have to say, Mornington has some great memories for me! The all famous “Morningtown” song will be something that I will not easily forget!

Mornington hasn’t just been a school, it is a community and it is a school that me and my brother have been a part of and proud to say so! I will never forget my Mom asking you to make sure you call me Charlotte – Louise all the time of which no-one ever says that to me unless I have done something naughty!

Dukes Barn is an adventure which will always stay with me as well, the trip we had were brilliant and of course apart from the effort of Teachers, it would not be possible without the Headmaster!

I feel very privileged to have had the pleasure of attending your school Mornington Primary. I have always felt welcome to come back to Mornington for my brother  as well as for my work experience (a long time ago now it seems!) and to visit teachers of old!

I hope you enjoy retirement, it is well deserved! Take care and keep in touch!

Wishing you all the best

Charlotte Spooner

                                                Good Luck
Robert ....  Mornington will not be the same without you.

We all have many memories starting back with Mother and Toddler group on Monday and Friday,   we had lots of fun watching babies grow and start school !!
School Swimming, Trips, Christmas Fayre, BBQ, Paper collections, Making costumes  P.T.A meetings the list goes on, how did we fit it all in.
Mornington had such a close community feeling and it was great to be there from the beginning, helping the school grow and develop into the school it is today.

Have a Long and Happy Retirement

Our love and best wishes
Derick, Serena, Katie and Edward Wilson xx

I don't want to go into school today Mum,
I don't feel like school today.
Oh, don't make me go to school today, Mum
Oh, please let me stay home and play.

But you must go to school, my cherub, my lamb,
If you don't it will be a disaster,
How would they manage without you, my sweet,
After all you our the headmaster!

So many fond and happy memories of Joe's childhood at Mornington School.
Thank you, you will be a hard act to follow.
Good luck in your new venture, it's time for you now.

Kind Regards
Mandy and Joe Allport
